The corporation has become arguably the most powerful entity on our planet. Corporations now dictate policy in everything from the World Trade Organization to our schools. It is hard to go a single second of our lives without touching, seeing or ingesting something that has not been made by a corporation. With so much power given to corporations, many of them have become corrupt and abusive. Whether it is using sweatshop labor, destroying the environment, or using taxpayer money to build a massive military industry that only survives if there is war, the existence of corporations brings about destruction and death on a massive scale.

In my work I take the face of the corporation, its logo, and manipulate in ways that expose its abusive and negligent behavior. I keep the original logo recognizable enough so that viewers are clear as to which corporation is being called out for its wrongdoing. In addition, I employ the same materials and tactics that the advertisers use: signs, banners, t-shirts, and web-based media. However, I am advertising dissent. In this show I address three issues: labor, big oil, and the military industrial complex.

I have launched this website that seeks to create more awareness about the abusive corporations of the world. The website also encourages activism as anyone who visits the site may download my artwork to use for flyers or posters. T-shirts with some of my designs may also be purchased through the site. The site also fosters hope, as there is information on Fair Trade products as well as links to other websites that can educate the viewer about how to live without participating in, and thus supporting, the corporate abusiveness that is so prevalent in our world.
